Growing up as the eldest in a family of 7, I had to take care of my siblings at an early age. This is when I encountered my gift of nurturing others. I got used to taking care of my siblings while my parents worked. This has shaped who I am in life.

Coming from a large family meant that our house was always full. I am a mother of two and when giving birth to my son 24 years ago, I was all alone with just my neighbor -- that was scary and I want to be there for others in their birth journey.
As a doula I want to fill the space for my clients as they go through this memorable journey and know that they can count on my being at your side during this time. My hands are open and available to you to give calm and assured support.
Giving birth is a beautiful story for any mother and as a doula I want to be able to give you, my client the support you need naturally I am easy going and selfless when taking care of my clients, a good listener, caring, loving and affectionate person.
I want to work with you to help preserve everything you hold dear during this time and make your birth a beautiful experience.
My passion is to always empower women during their child birth experience nurturing and supporting them through the beautiful process of becoming a mother.
This I will do by pampering and supporting you and providing you with emotional support that you need during the process knowing that I have your back during this time and you can focus on your baby.
Providing informational resources for you to be able to make sound choices, and allowing you to make your own decision on the kind of birth you expect to have.

Pendo la mama doula services offer support to Refugee/Immigrant families with language barriers achieve their ideal birth experience (swahili speaking).

Within this community, my community, we know that giving birth is a natural process women listen to their bodies , as your doula I will be there to support your choices following your heart and what your culture instills in you while nurturing you and supporting your wishes.

My main vision being empowering all women by giving my clients as much information as needed to be able to make informed choices especially
refugee/ immigrant clients.
Our mission is to empower every mom I serve to their ideal birth by empowering the mom’s to be their own advocates and supporting them. To achieve the birth experience they want by centering my service around them, nurturing, holding space,educating, and reducing stress through supporting the entire family.
Our Name
When I picked the name Pendo La Mama as my business name, I did not know that my daughter had also picked this same name, when doing a high school project, over 8 years ago.
Recently, she asked me why I don’t have any pictures of her as a baby. As I was going through my old pictures, I came across a picture of her when she was in 10th grade. In it she made a sculpture using the same name, "Pendo La Mama". You can imagine my shock - 8 years later!
It felt weird, and cool at the same time, that 8 years down the line I would be using using the same name that my daughter coincidentally had also chosen. Knowing this gave me a nice feeling of connection with my daughter.
